HAND SPINNER / SUPPORT
Need a hand?
First spin, a new skin, or something that doesn’t feel right.
Here’s where to start.
Your first spin.
Hand Spinner requires macOS 14 or later. The Mac App Store release is coming soon.
- Launch Hand Spinner. On the first launch, read the short guide and choose START SPINNING. You can reopen it from the menu-bar icon → How to Play….
- Press Option + Space to show or hide the spinner. You can also use the menu-bar icon to open it.
- Click the spinner to enter play mode. The pointer is hidden while you play.
- Hold Space and move one finger on the trackpad. Stop moving to let it coast; release Space when you like. You don’t need to keep swiping.
- Add another push in the same direction to speed it up. Move against the rotation to brake or reverse.
- Press Escape to leave play mode and restore the pointer. Once you’re out of play mode, drag the spinner to move it.
If the controls don’t respond.
Make sure you have clicked the spinner and are holding Space while moving one finger. Press Escape to reset play mode, then click the spinner again.
If Option-Space is used by another app or a macOS keyboard shortcut, open Hand Spinner from its menu-bar icon instead. Review the conflicting shortcut in System Settings or that app’s settings.
If the pointer does not return after Escape, use Option-Space to hide the overlay. If necessary, press Command-Option-Escape and force quit Hand Spinner, then relaunch it.
Skins & restoring purchases.
The Standard skin is included free. The optional 1998 Translucent Pack unlocks Atomic Purple, Glacier Blue, Smoke and Tangerine with a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Open the menu-bar icon → 1998 Translucent Pack… to preview the skins. Apple shows the final price before you confirm payment.
To restore an earlier purchase, sign in to the Mac App Store with the same Apple Account used to buy the pack, then choose Restore Purchases in the skin-pack window. An internet connection may be needed.
If you cancel Apple’s purchase dialog, no new skin pack is unlocked. If approval is pending, wait for Apple’s confirmation. If the product is unavailable or a purchase fails, check your App Store account and connection, then try again later. Don’t keep buying the pack to fix a restore problem—contact support instead.
Tell us what happened.
Email your Mac model, macOS version, Hand Spinner version and the steps that led to the issue. A screenshot can help; remove any personal information first.
Never send your Apple password, payment-card details or verification codes.
